The American Home Institute ( AHI ) has been founded for two purposes : educating everyone on subjects related to home planning, building and renovation; and creating a standard benchmark of knowledge that can be achieved by anyone willing to try. AHI is NOT a substitute for membership and training attainable in professional trade associations, and AHI will encourage active membership in those associations. AHI IS an educational tool, offering a method to standardize and rank knowledge across the gamut of private individuals and professional trades in the American Dwelling industry.
Anyone who can read and count can begin the AHI learning process. Once begun, an individual member will be able to instantly compare attained sequential knowledge with available knowledge. An individual’s current rank, or AHI Score, can be voluntarily made public, allowing potential customers to choose a tradesman based on standardized knowledge, rather than hit-or-miss Continuing Education Units (CEU credits) offered by the wide variety of closed-membership professional associations. Whether you want to improve yourself or your chosen industry segment, AHI offers a way for you to know that you know what others know. |
